Mr. Varnel Shelton, age 79, Jonesborough, passed away at his residence Saturday March 11, 2017.
Mr Shelton was a native of Madison County NC, and the son of the late Gertrude Shelton.
Mr Shelton was a retired famer. He enjoyed people, gardening, and playing ROOK.
Mr. Shelton was of the Free Will Baptist faith.
Survivors include two daughters Diane Stevens (Terry), Denise Darnell (Brian), three sons, Rodney Shelton (Rita), Tommy Shelton (Paula), and Jon Shelton (Lettie); nine grandchildren, seven greatgrandchildren; one brother Clarence Shelton, one sister Mary Beech and several nieces and nephews.
We extend a special thank you to the Hospice staff of Mountain State Hospice, especially Lynn for his special caring, dad thoroughly enjoyed his visits.
Funeral services for Mr. Shelton will be Saturday March 18, 2017 2:00PM at Dillow-Taylor Funeral Home with Rev. Darin Harrison. The family will receive family and friends from 12:00 to 2:00PM prior to the service and other times at the home of Mr. Shelton’s Son Jon. Interment will follow at Urbana Cemetery in Limestone, TN.
