David 'Dave Hyder

Mr. David “Dave” A. Hyder, age 69, Jonesborough, passed away on Wednesday February 15, 2017 at the Johnson City Medical Center.
Dave was born in Johnson City, TN on March 7, 1947. He was the son of Wilma Bowers Hyder and the late Dave S. Hyder. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by a brother, Johnny Hyder and father-in-law, Leon Baker Sr.
Dave was a member of the 1965 class of Jonesboro High School. He served in the United States Air Force from 1968 to 1972. He was a barber by profession and for many years owned Dave’s Barber Shop in Johnson City. Dave enjoyed fishing and show cars. He was a member of Hales Chapel Ruritan and Jonesborough Hardees early morning club.
Survivors include his wife of 49 years, Brenda Baker Hyder; his mother Wilma Hyder; sisters, Judy Gray and Shelia Shell; nieces, Sherry Bowman and Judy Gail White; three great nephews, several cousins and a special cousin and friend, Bobby Church; Dave is also survived by his Baker family who loved him deeply; mother-in-law, Evelyn Baker of the home; brother-in-law, Leon Baker and wife Kathy; nephew, Eric Baker and wife Crystal; great nephew, Jonathan Baker.
Brenda wishes to extend a special thank you to Larry Hoss for always lending a helping hand when needed for many years. Also a special thank you to the physicians, nurses and staff of the 2900 I.C.U. for the care and compassion shown to Dave, herself and family during this difficult time.
You may call on Brenda and family, Saturday at the home of Leon and Kathy Baker.
The family will receive family and friends Sunday February 19, 2017 from 5:00 to 7:00 PM at Dillow-Taylor Funeral Home.
It was Dave’s request that a graveside service be held at Mountain Home National Cemetery. Committal service will be held Monday, February 20, 2017 9:00 AM with Military Honors. Those wishing to go in procession please meet at Dillow-Taylor Funeral Home at 8:30AM.

Please accept my deepest condolences for Dave's passing. Dave was a good friend and I always enjoyed Dave and Brenda's company on all the trips we took in our Streetrods. We all had a lot of fun and that is a group that I have missed over the years. Dave will be missed by all who knew him. Rest in peace Dave.
