Mr. Danny “Dan” Thomas Kade, age 58, Jonesborough, passed away Thursday, January 26, 2017 at Johnson City Medical Center following a short illness.
Mr. Kade was born in Washington State and son of the late Ernest & Chloe Kade and birth-mother, Goldie Mae Kade. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Michael Kade and a nephew, Terrance Kade.
He attended New Victory United Methodist Church.
Mr. Kade was a hairdresser and owner and operator of The Cutting Edge, having been in business for 25 years. He loved horses and Lady Vols Basketball.
Survivors include brothers and sisters, Larry Kade (Marilyn) Sand Lick, WV, Mitchell Kade (Betty) Bluewell, WV, Donald Kade (Julia) Jonesborough, Goldie Dennis (Danny) and Vickie Lynch (Ray) all of Princeton, WV, Albert Kade (Jan), California, Barbara Kade and Jerry Kade, both of Bluefield, WV Katherine Pennington (Wayne) Kentucky, Roger Kade (Ruth)Princeton, WV and William Kade Atlanta, GA; partner, Jeff Wilhoit, of the home; sister-in-law, Francis Kade, Montcalm, WV; many, many special nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, clients and beloved pets, Milton & Pearl.
Memorial services will be conducted 6:00 pm Saturday, January 28, 2017 at Dillow-Taylor Funeral Home with Rev. Jim Chatman officiating.
Dan was a good and kind man and he will be missed.

My sincere condolences to all Dan's family. I was so sorry to hear of Dan's passing. He was my hair dresser for several years and I was his tax preparer. He was such a special person. He was so smart and funny. I always left his shop feeling much better than when I had arrived. I will miss our talks so very much.
Mom and I are so sorry to learn of Dan's passing. We love him
so much! He made us beautiful (his words!), and he always
made us laugh. Mom always brought him fudge when we got
our hair cut, and he ate half of it before he would even start
working on us. We will miss him until we see him again in

about two weeks ago was "Sabrina don't miss me to bad" with

passing of Dan. I never met him but I can tell by
the out pouring of those who did, that he was a

My mother (Hannelore) is computer illiterate and called me in Texas to ask me to see if I could find anything about her hairdresser of 25+ years, Dan because she could not get ahold of him. When I told her I found the article of his passing she was extremely heartbroken to hear of this news. She talked a lot of how Dan always made her laugh and the 3 loves of his life (those boxers). I've heard so much about him over the years, I feel like I know him. Condolences and prayers for the family ~ we are truly sorry for your loss.

Being a friends & clients, Dan, Larry & I would discuss many different ideas about politics, church & silly things that have happened to us. We had a lot of good laughs & shed some tears.
We will miss Dan terribly. We always enjoyed our visits with him.

a wonderful person with such a good heart & a
great listener. He did my hair for quite a
while & knew as much about me as some of my
closest friends at one time. Sadly when I moved
to TX for a while & came back, I did my own
hair for a long time but, when the time came
that I needed him, soon after losing my husband
he got me in immediately & did an amazing job &
listened to me pour my heart out. Since I had
been away for so long, I had no idea he was
sick & he never mentioned it, with me being so
upset. I only got to see him that one last time
in September of last year. I called to make
another appt only to find out the sad news,
that he was very sick & in the hospital. I kept
him & the family in my prayers & will continue
to do so. He will for sure be missed by many &
I will forever be grateful for his sweet
demeanor & his listening ear. God bless you all
