Rev. Earl “Happy Jack” Shelton, age 78, Greeneville, entered into eternal rest August 12, 2016.
He was the son of the late Cornellius and Callie Shelton. He was also preceded in death by a son-in-law Steve Kilday, brothers Dallas Shelton, James Shelton, Dennis Shelton, a sister Alma Lee Gunter and the mother of his children Margaret Renell Malone Shelton.
He was a United States Army Veteran, roofing contractor, and better known for his ministry and singing as a minister for the Church Of God. His love for the Lord was shown by his endless knowledge, unbiased opinions and dedication to the Church.
He is survived by a loyal and dedicated wife Nina Aldridge Shelton; sons Earl Jr. and wife Doris, Sheldon and wife Sandra, and Tim Shelton, daughters, Angelia Lister and husband Johnny, Felita Kilday, and Delilah Warren; grandchildren, Jonathan, Nathan, Nikki, Josh, Brandon, TJ, Heather, and CJ, great grandchildren Ashlyn, Taylor, Brad and one on the way; brothers Billy and wife Patricia Shelton, Arthur Voyd and wife Joanie Shelton, sisters Debra and husband Lynn Bowser and Beatrice and husband Pete Castiglione; several nieces and nephews, a host of other relatives and his church family.
In honor of his requests there will not be a public viewing and his body will be cremated. A celebration of his life will be announced at a later date.
