I'm thinking daddy was happy to see Peter Whiskers again and I can see Granny Laura hugging him with one arm and spanking him with the other. If Heaven has tractors, papaw has him working on one. His suffering here on earth is done and he has been reunited with Gwen. As painful as it is for those who loved him that he left behind, there has to be comfort in knowing his pain has ended here and he had loved ones waiting for him on the other side.

Rick will be missed dearly by everyone who's life he touched. He was the kindest hearted man to both family and friends. He loved the out doors and everything in it. His dream of seeing Alaska was not realized while here on earth but I know he's looking forward to the adventures ahead of him. His body weakened but his spirit of adventure never left his heart. To his family I know you are filled with sorrow and feel the emptiness inside but be strong knowing his body was tired and he is not in pain any longer. May the memories of Rick bring peace to your heart and your love for him live on in your memories.
