Mr. Robert R. Hensley passed away Friday, June 3, 2016 at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville.
Mr. Hensley was a native of Washington County, the son of the late Silas Ray and Ruth Cox Hensley. He was also preceded in death by a brother, David Ronald Hensley.
Robert was of the Christian faith. He never met a stranger and kept friends and family always laughing. He was an avid guitar player and loved to play. He was a wonderful husband and father. He was loved very much by his family and friends.
He was a licensed Optician in the state of Tennessee and North Carolina.
Survivors include his wife Bobbie Maupin Hensley of the home; two sons, Jason W. Hensley and Jordon R. Hensley and his new daughter in law Andrea, all of Johnson City; two brothers, Lawrence Dean Hensley (Bonnie), of PA. and Terry Lee Hensley, (Teresa), of Kingsport; a sister-in-law, Chris Hensley; many nieces and nephews; and beloved dogs, Abby and Cali.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at 7:00 pm on Friday, June 10, 2016 at Dillow-Taylor Funeral Home with Rev. Terry Hensley conducting the service. The family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00 pm Friday prior to the service.

I am so sorry the family. Robert was just such a friendly
enjoyable person to be around. I wish there were more people
like him. I hope all of you find comfort in the coming days and
weeks. He will be missed.
