Haskel "Ray" Hensley 74, Jonesborough, passed away in his home April 10,2016. He went home to be with the Lord and his precious granddaughter, Cortney Raquel Hensley, April 10, 2016.
Ray was the son of the late Dewey and Nora Bass Hensley. He was also proceeded in death by 2 brothers and 3 sisters.

Ray was a lifelong carpenter. He had a passion and love for wood and building. He enjoyed keeping his yard well-manicured and loved riding the lawnmower. Ray will be remembered for always aggravating those he loved, especially the staff of Pioneer Grocery.
Ray was a member of New Victory Baptist church.

Ray married his high school sweetheart Dremia Sue Constable July 23, 1960, whom he leaves behind. Ray is also survived by four sons, Terry and his wife Karen, Scotty and his wife Darlene, Michael Hensley and Josh Hensley of the home, one daughter Angie and her husband Kenny Adkins. Grandchildren Britney Hensley, Lyndsay Adkins Whetsell, Hilary Hensley, Jacob Adkins, Jessica Miller, Kim Livesay. Great-Grandchildren Luke, Aubree, Addie, Cortland, Norah, Zoey, Memphis, Robbie and Bryson; one brother Jake Hensley and a sister Virginia Williams and several nieces and nephews.

Special thanks to the entire staff at Davita Dialysis who took such amazing care of him and affectionately called him "Haskel the Rascal".

Funeral services for Mr. Hensley will be Wednesday April 13, 2016 2:00 PM at Dillow-Taylor Funeral Home with Rev. David Snyder and Mr. Bobby Joe Barker officiating. The family will receive family and friends from 12:00-2:00 PM prior to the service and other times at the home.

Graveside services will follow at New Victory Methodist Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Terry, Scotty and Michael Hensley, Kenny and Jacob Adkins, and Ricky Constable. Honorary Pallbearers will be Josh Hensley and Johnny Burleson.

I will always remember Ray as being a very concerned and wonderful dad. Michael was in my very first class at JES. Ray always remembered me every time I saw him and Sue at a store. He always had a smile on his face. Prayers are sent from my family to yours.
