Mr. Herman Phillips, age 92, Jonesborough, passed away Wednesday, March 30, 2016 at the Johnson City Medical Center.
Mr. Phillips was born in Washington County and son of the late P.C. & Gusta Byrd Phillips. He was also preceded in death by his first wife, Eileen Phillips, second wife, Christine Phillips, brothers, Bernie Phillips, Roy Phillips, Alvin Phillips and Charles Phillips, sisters, Helen Woods, Betty Treadway and Lorene Smith.
He was a member of Mt. Wesley United Methodist Church.
Mr. Phillips retired from Mason Dixon as a truck driver and was a farmer.
Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Sherrill & Janie Phillips; daughter and son-in-law, Jan & Allen Neal; grandchildren, Mark Phillips (Carly), Pam Mitchell (Patrick), Donnie Neal and Dale Neal; great-grandson, Winston Thomas Mitchell; sisters, Shirley Wren, Chris Nordseth, Jean Fippin and Nell Fox; and several nephews and nieces.
Funeral services will be conducted 8:00 pm Friday, April 1, 2016 at the Dillow-Taylor Funeral Home with Pastor Jeremy Dykes officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 pm Friday prior to the service.
Interment services will be conducted 11:00 am Saturday, April 2, 2016 at the Mt. Wesley Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Brian Dillow, Bill Dykes, Donnie Neal, Dale Neal, Mark Phillips and Patrick Mitchell. Honorary pallbearers will be Dick Wright, Roy Coffee, Don Dillow, Bill Slemmons, Jerry Smith, Robert Shelton and Perry Phillips.
