I was so honored to be able to sing at Sandi's Memorial Service this morning at Saint James Catholic Church in Mason. Charlie, it was wonderful to meet you again after all these years and share our sorrow at Sandi's passing. Your deep and unending love for your soul mate was very evident in the personal stories you shared with me. I hope that my recollections of her from our days working together at the Michigan Department of Agriculture and my observations of her jubilant, spunky spirit and of her generosity were of some comfort to you. Connie,it was great to see you again and to meet Larry. Karen, what can I say? It was wonderful to find out that you are the sister of one of my favorite co-workers from my days at MDA. You and your Charlie will now forever remind me of lovely Sandi whenever I see you at St. James. My prayers are with all of you.

I knew Sandi when I worked for the Dept. of Ag. in Lansing. She was such a WONDERFUL person. She was always very helpful and kind. She always had a smile when I needed it most. She was a very creative person. I remember her sharing all of her sewing and arts and crafts stuff. She was very talented and artistic. She once made me a giant stuffed gingerbread holding a sign that read Cookie Queen because I loved to bake cookies. She often talked about Charlie and Holly, her mother and her sister. She will be greatly missed, but know that she made an impact in people's lives and for that I am very much appreciative.

Charlie-Just read of Sandi's passing in the Lansing State Journal. You might remember photographing our wedding here in Westphalia back in 1988 and then I worked with Sandi in Agriculture for many years - she was my mentor and I so looked up to her! I think we helped each other through a few rough times and I so valued her friendship! My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.

I graduated with Sandy from High School in Mason, Michigan and over the years lost touch with her. She was indeed a bright soul and indeed lite up every room she entered. She always had a smile on her face and it was always a 100-watt smile! I have not doubt she made a large impact on the community in which she lived and am very sorry for her family's loss. She will brighten heaven.

Sincere thoughts and prayers for Sandy and her family. An awesome women that took me under her wing when I was a young kid at the MI Dept of Ag, always treating everyone with class and caring, a true Sparkle in life. As a caregiver for my wife Deanna and an active Relay for Lifer in Michigan, I thank Sandy and and her family for their efforts that have helped so many others, including Deanna. Sandy is a true angel and we are all better people for having had Sandy touch our lives. Sandy, you have left a wonderful mark and we will miss you dearly.
