Mr. Tommy Quinn, age 90, Limestone, passed away Tuesday, March 22, 2016 at the Durham-Hensley Nursing Home.
Mr. Quinn was born in Spruce Pine, NC and son of the late Thomas & Iris Quinn. He was also preceded in death by three sisters, Rachel Hughes, Lucille Pittman and Annalee Peterson and one brother, Frank Quinn.
He was a member of Asbury United Methodist Church, where he was a Sunday school teacher for many years. He was a man of great faith and strong character.
Mr. Quinn was a United States Navy Veteran having served during WWII in the Pacific Theater.
He worked for Moody Dunbar, Inc. for 25 years and retired as plant manager. He enjoyed farming and loved nature.
Survivors include his wife, Martha Henley Quinn, Limestone; daughter and son-in-law, Debbie & Bob Tibble, Limestone; son and daughter-in-law, Cecil & Celesta Quinn, Limestone; three grandchildren, Amanda Tibble, Brian Tibble and wife Crystal, Brandi Christian and husband Matthew; great grandchildren, Thomas, Evan, Cayson, Quinnlyn and Kennedy; brothers, Dan Quinn, Joe Quinn and Edwin Quinn; sisters, Mary Blackwell and Jean Johnson; and many nephews and nieces.
Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 pm Friday, March 25, 2016 at the Asbury United Methodist Church with Pastor Steven Spell and Pastor Craig Ponder officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00-2:00 pm Friday prior to the service. Interment services will follow at Asbury Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Keith Patton, Bill Johnson, Ronnie Snapp, Tim Humphreys, Brian Tibble and Thomas Peters. Honorary pallbearers will be Curtis Guinn.
Memorial donations may be made to Asbury United Methodist Church 1779 Bailey Bridge Rd. Limestone, TN 37681.
