Mr. Daniel Lawrence Matheson, age 82, Jonesborough, passed away Sunday, February 28, 2016 at Cornerstone Village.
Mr. Matheson was born in Butler, Tennessee and son of the late George W. & Mona Fay Reece Matheson. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Patricia Faye Matheson, brothers and sisters, Billy Hoover Matheson, Dewey Matheson, Brown Matheson, Andy “Dud” Matheson, Oscar “Doc” Matheson, Letha Archer, Maude Grindstaff, Florence Delong and an infant sister.
He was a member of West Side Church of Christ.
Mr. Matheson was a United States Army Veteran.
Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Daniel Lawrence “Danny," II & Sandy Matheson, Fort Oglethorpe, Georgia, and Randall & Jane Matheson, Jonesborough; grandchildren, Andrew Matheson, Rachel Collette and husband Kevin, David Matheson, and Aaron Matheson.
The family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00 pm Tuesday, March 1, 2016 at the Dillow-Taylor Funeral Home with funeral to follow at 7:00 pm with Rev. Jack Dykes officiating.
Graveside services will be conducted 1:45 pm Wednesday, March 2, 2016 at Mountain Home National Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be grandsons.

Darrell and Betty Jo Dempsey
Dan and Pat (and Ordie) meant so much to us. It was a wonderful experience knowing them as we worshipped together through the years at West Side Church of Christ. Some sweet day we will worship together again! You will continue to be in our thoughts and prayers.
