Mrs. Theresa C. “Susie” VanHoy, age 52, Johnson City, passed away Thursday, February 25, 2016 at her residences.
Mrs. VanHoy was born in Washington County and daughter of Larry Kenneth McLemore, and the late Elizabeth Garland. She was also preceded in death by her grandparents, D.C. & Alma McLemore, Frank & Francis Byers and Roy & Marie Bright.
She was of the Free Will Baptist faith.
Mrs. VanHoy was a Mail Carrier for the Carroll Reece and Main Street Post Office in Johnson City.
In addition to her father, survivors include her husband, James Scott VanHoy, Johnson City; four daughters, Lori Jenkins (Shawn), Emily Miller, all of Jonesborough, Brittany Billings (Aaron), and Christy Harrison (Brian), all of Johnson City; grandchildren, Ashlyn Harrison, Meadow Harrison, Riley Harrison and Presliegh Billings; sister, Lisa Phillips (Steve); brother, Steve McLemore; mother-in-law, Helen VanHoy; special aunt, Judy West (Bill); uncle, Jim Byers (Freda); nieces and nephew, Elizabeth & Abby Phillips, Brandon Phillips; cousin, Carolyn Byers; special friends, Sandy Carver, Mary Wallace, Teresa & Jimmy Rogers; many friends at the JC Post Office especially Stephanie Fields; special pets, Marley, Patches, Snibbles and Braley.
Funeral services will be conducted 1:00 pm Monday, February 29, 2016 at the Dillow-Taylor Funeral Home with Rev. Kenneth Grindstaff and Pastor David Dugger officiating. The family will receive friends from 11:00-1:00 pm Monday prior to the service. Interment services will follow at Monte Vista Burial Park.
Pallbearers will be Shawn Jenkins, Brian Harrison, Allen Jaynes, Michael Bailey, Brian Hensley and Steve Phillips.
I am sorry to see that Theresa passed away. After we both moved from Mint Hill I would only see her in stores and we always enjoyed chatting, she was a very sweet lady and friend. Do to my work I cannot attend receiving of friends but will keep all of you in prayer.
