Mr. Claude Rouse, age 91, Chuckey, passed away Tuesday, February 23, 2016 at his residence.
Mr. Rouse was born in Sullivan County and son of the late Frank & Dortha Penley Rouse. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Annis M. Rouse and a sister, Blanche Bailey.
He was a member of Liberty Free Will Baptist Church.
Mr. Rouse was a watch maker.
Survivors include two sons, Ronald Rouse, Chuckey and Douglas Rouse, Weaverville, NC; granddaughter, Kelli Rouse; grandson, Travis Rouse; and two great-grandchildren, Gavin Cloyd and Selena Humphreys.
Graveside services will be conducted 2:30 pm Saturday, February 27, 2016 at Liberty Cemetery with Rev. Stephen Saults officiating.
Pallbearers will be Douglas Rouse, Ronald Rouse, Travis Rouse, Bryan Humphreys, Drew Bailey and Stacy Bailey.

Douglas, Ronald and families,
We send you our condolences. We will always
remember how kind your Mom and Dad were when we
came to visit in 2001. We enjoyed meeting you
also and have such fond memories of our trip.
We remember your dad showing us the jewelry
store and your mom giving us the tour of the
area, and helping arrange the covered dish
dinner where we met dozens and dozens of
cousins. Praying for comfort for you all.
Ronald and Douglas, I am so sorry in the loss of your Father. He and your Mom were two of the kindest people I've known. They gave me my first job and even drove me to work with them. May a lifetime of good memories give you peace and comfort in the days ahead. God bless.
