Mrs. Wanda Pleasant Carter, age 87, Bean Station, formerly of Jonesborough, passed away Sunday, January 24, 2016 at the Heritage Center, Morristown.
Mrs. Carter was born in Washington County and daughter of the late Barnett & Rosie Collins Pleasant. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Henry Carter, son, Ronald Carter, brother, Wayne Pleasant, two sisters, Charlene Pleasant and Kay Roberts, grandchild, Michael Scranton and a great-grandchild, Carter Clements.
She was of the Baptist faith.
Mrs. Carter was a Homemaker.
Survivors include five sons, Terry Carter (Juanita), Bean Station, John Carter, Lawrenceville, IL, Don Carter, Rochelle, IL, Henry Carter, Jr., Creston, IL and Robert Carter, Nurnburg, Germany; two daughters, Diane Hilderbrand, Kent, Washington and Teresa Dienst (Mark), Maple Park, IL; one brother, Gary Pleasant (Sandy), Gray; four sisters, Mary Carter, Indianapolis, June Bales, Limestone and Carolyn Legg (J.R.), Limestone; 20 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren, and several nephews and nieces.
Funeral services will be conducted 1:00 pm Saturday, January 30, 2016 at the Dillow-Taylor Funeral Home with Pastor Jack Dykes officiating. The family will receive friends from 11:00-1:00 pm Saturday prior to the service. Interment services will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery, Jonesborough.
Pallbearers will be family & friends.
