Mrs. Jewell Saylor, age 85, Gray, passed away Thursday, December 24, 2015 at the Johnson City Medical Center.
Mrs. Saylor was born in Carter County and was the daughter of the late Earl & Betty Lewis. She was also preceded in death by her first husband, John F. Saylor, Sr., second husband, David Galyon and a daughter, Janie Surray (Harrison) Saylor.
She was a member of Buffalo Ridge Baptist Church.
Mrs. Saylor was the first female school bus driver for the Washington County School System and a homemaker.
Survivors include a son, Johnny F. Saylor, Jr. and wife Jan, Unicoi; two daughters, Leisa Childers, Gray and Rosemary Saylor Thompson and husband Don, Raleigh, NC; seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be conducted 2:00 pm Sunday, December 27, 2015 at Gray Cemetery with Dr. Jody Jenkins and Dr. Gary Seaman officiating.

So sorry to see that Mrs. Sailor passed away. Ms Jewell was my school bus driver, and I also was a member of Buffalo Ridge Baptist when I was growing up in Gray Station. My Momma and Daddy and Grandparents knew Ms Jewell. Please except our deepest condolences. Ms Jewel's daughter- in-law, Jan is such a sweet person, and I miss seeing her. A great family.
