Mr. Charles Albert Ayers, age 82, Jonesborough, passed away Monday, November 9, 2015 at the Johnson City Medical Center.
Mr. Ayers was born in Washington County and son of the late Estel & Arvilla Ramsey Ayers.
He was a member of Providence Presbyterian Church where he served as Elder for over 50 years.
Mr. Ayers was a lifelong farmer and bus driver for the Washington County School System. He was affectional called Albert “Red Cap” Ayers by the school children.
Survivors include his wife, Audrey Lucille Street Ayers, Jonesborough; brother, Bobby Ayers, Limestone; sister, Ola Mae Metcalf, Greeneville; and many nephews and nieces.
Funeral services will be conducted 8:00 pm Thursday, November 12, 2015 at the Dillow-Taylor Funeral Home with Pastor Parker Street officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 pm Thursday prior to the service.
Interment services will be conducted 2:00 pm Friday, November 13, 2015 at Providence Cemetery. The body will lie in state from 1:30-2:00 pm at the church.
Pallbearers will be nephews. Honorary pallbearers will be Ray Street, Dean Street, David Wise, and Richard Wright.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Providence Cemetery c/o James Keys, 1915 Milburnton Rd. Limestone, TN 37681.
