Jerry Ryans, 70, passed from this life peacefully at home on October 3rd, surrounded by his family.
Jerry was born in Jonesborough and moved to Philadelphia in his teens. He later relocated to Connecticut and became a manager of a chain of dry cleaners, where he meet his wife Pat. They married in 1973 and relocated back to Tennessee in 1986. Jerry worked in dry cleaning again for several years before opening his own business, Professional Touch Cleaning Services in 1996. After 11 successful years Jerry retired in 2008.
Jerry attended both Bethel Christian Church Jonesborough and Heritage Baptist Church, Johnson City.
Jerry enjoyed golf, boating, travel, camping, watching football, boxing and driving his Miata.
Jerry was preceded in death by his mother Mae Nell Ryans Hardy and his step father Oger Hardy.
Jerry leaves behind his wife of 42 years Pat; daughter Brandi Ryans Foster and son in law RJ Foster of Brooklyn NY; daughter Stephanie Mines of Philadelphia; sister Jeanette Mills of Philadelphia; special nieces and nephew, LaTonya, Marquise and Gary along with 3 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life for Jerry will be held Thursday, October 8, 2015, 4:00 PM, at Bethel Christian Church with Reverend Vincent Dial and Dr. Reggie Weems officiating.
Honorary pallbearers are Steve Alexander, Ron Hardin, Dirk Campbell, Joey Galloway, Douglas Subjeck, Sandy Johnson and Debbie Johnson.
