Dear Paul, Steven, Daniel, Timothy, and family and friends of wonderful, dear Lois, I knew Lois as my loving and generous aunt. When my brother Jim and I were young, I remember visiting "Lois and Paul" at a beautiful older brick house, which I believe was in Minneapolis. Daniel was in a crib and Timothy had not been born. The two Loises sat and drank endless cups of coffee and talked for hours and hours. I thought them hopelessly boring, but now I realize they had a lifelong bond of deep friendship. How lucky they were to have found this. I know my mother always treasured Lois and valued her friendship and commitment to her family. My mom, Lois once told me that Lois ould do anything for her sons. Back to that particular visit, Mark, Steven, and Jim jumped right into playing some wild game in the basement. I as afraid to get off the steps even though Mark made a point of inviting me to play with them. My brother ignored me (typical) and I think Steven didn't notice me. After a while I went back up to the kitchen and said I was afraid to get off the stairs. Lois said, "Those wild animals down there don't know how to play with girls." She set me up so I could color in the living room. She was my savior that day. Lois was always kind to me, always thoughtful and generous. And she loved her sons heart and soul. Paul, I wish I had words of comfort but everything seems trite and used. I only knew a part of Lois, but I was lucky to know that part of her, I think the family part of her. She truly was a remarkable and multi-faceted woman who made a difference. My love and prayers to all of you, Stephanie Niece and Cousin
