Mrs. Rhonda Denise Byrd Brookshire, age 56, Jonesborough, passed away Sunday, September 20, 2015 surrounded by her loving family after a long courageous battle with cancer.
Mrs. Brookshire was born in Morristown, Tennessee and daughter of Loyd & Cleta Ferguson Byrd.
She was of the Baptist faith. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother.
Mrs. Brookshire graduated from Morristown East High School in 1976.
Survivors include her husband of 34 years, Eddie Brookshire; children, Kristan Brookshire Ginnings, Grant Brookshire and Summar Brookshire; grandson, Reed Ginnings (her pride and joy); mother-in-law, Shirley Brookshire; father-in-law, Paul Brookshire; brother, Roger Byrd; niece, Bianca Byrd; nephew, Brandon Byrd; brother-in-law, Gary Brookshire; sister-in-law, Shona Shaw; nieces, Chauntee Brookshire and Breeann Brookshire; aunts, Sharon Davis and Barbara Shockley.
Funeral services will be conducted 8:00 pm Tuesday, September 22, 2015 at the Dillow-Taylor Funeral Home with Rev. Jack Arrowood and Brother Jeffrey Harville officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 pm Tuesday prior to the service.
Interment services will be conducted 3:00 pm Wednesday, September 23, 2015 at Hamblin Memory Gardens in Morristown.
Pallbearers will be Gary Brookshire, Grant Brookshire, Roger Byrd, Mike Hodge, Zack Bailey, Steve Shockley and Seth Clement. Honorary pallbearer will be Reed Ginnings.
