I began work for Eastman in the Research Division in
February 1965 and met Sam shortly thereafter. He
used to get me to take his payroll check and get it
cashed while I took my lunchbreak. I had a great
deal of respect for Sam...he was a smart man, kind
and considerate to me always. I saw him last in
2008 at the visitation in Kingsport for our friend
John Reed....a doubly sad day because at that time
Sam did not remember any of the ones there nor the
ones he worked with. My Mother also had Altheimers
and I know the heartache it brings. God bless all
of you. I miss my dear friend Sam.

Geraldine, I only heard about Sam last night. I don't get the
paper and depend on someone to tell me. Not always the best.
I am out of town today and will not be able to be at the funeral.
Know that my thoughts and prayers are with you, Terry, Mark
and their families. Gosh what a large family.
