Phyllis Elizabeth Earnest

09/11/2015

Phyllis Elizabeth Earnest, Charlotte, NC,
On Friday, September 11, 2015, our Heavenly Father took the hand of our beloved mother, and brought her to rest in his loving arms.
Mama was born March 24, 1927 to Beulah and Frank Hilbert in Jonesborough, TN. She grew up with a desire and a joy for helping others. She loved to sing and had a beautiful voice, most always singing while going about her days. Mama was a very kind and gentle spirit. She was a wonderful mother, wife, homemaker, a true friend; and she was so well loved. She and Daddy were blessed with two daughters, two grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren. Mama was very devoted to her family.
Mama is survived by her daughters, Kathy Earnest and Susan Lybrand; granddaughter, Aimee and her husband, Iain Balfour, and their daughters, Avery and Annalise; and by her grandson, Jonathan Lybrand, and his sons Kaden and Koal. She is also survived by her sister, Gayle and her husband, Jack Rogers; and by nieces and nephews for whom she had great affection. She is survived by Eddie's loving aunt, Vivian Braun. And she is survived by her lifelong best friend, Frances Berry.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 am on this coming Saturday, September 19, in the chapel at Dillow-Taylor Funeral Home in Jonesborough, TN. Immediately following the service, Mama will be laid to rest next to her loving husband, Eddie, at Maple Lawn Cemetery in Jonesborough.
There will be no visitation prior to or following the service.
Memorials may be made to Regions Hospital Foundation, Alzheimer's and Dementia Research Center, 640 Jackson Street, St. Paul, MN 55101-2595; or to The American Heart Association, Memorial Processing Center, 4217 Park Place Court, Glen Allen VA 23060-9979.
