Mr. Charles Wilson, age 79, Jonesborough, passed away Wednesday, August 19, 2015 at the Johnson City Medical Center.
Mr. Wilson was born May 11, 1936 and a lifelong resident of Dry Creek Community in Washington County Tennessee. He was the son of the late Oscar & Sarah Elizabeth Helton Wilson. He was also preceded in death by a daughter, Angela Michelle Wilson, three brothers, Gary Don Wilson, Estel Wilson and Albert Wilson, two sisters, Francis Miller and Shirley Rodifer.
He was retired and enjoyed spending time in his garden and listening to Bluegrass music.
Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Peggy Smith Wilson, Jonesborough; son, Charles Gregory Wilson; daughters, Pam Laws and Sonya Arnold; grandsons, Shane Wilson and Keith Arnold; granddaughters, Bethany Laws and Christy Gilbert; five brothers, Theodore Wilson, James Wilson, Oscar (Junior) Wilson, Douglas Wilson and David Wilson; sister, Peggy Carroll; and several nephews and nieces.
Funeral services will be conducted 1:00 pm Saturday, August 22, 2015 at Cherokee Community Independent Freewill Baptist Church with Pastor David Montgomery officiating. The family will receive friends from 11:00-1:00 pm Saturday prior to the service. Interment services will follow at Cherry Grove-Keplinger Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be family and friends.
