Mrs. Mary Ellen Dykes Broyles, age 70, Limestone, gave up her courageous battle to be in the arms of the Lord, Friday, July 31, 2015 at her home surrounded by her loving family.
Mrs. Broyles was born in Washington County and daughter of the late Worley & Margaret O’Dell Dykes. She was also preceded in death by a son, Timothy Vernon Broyles and three brothers, Harold Dykes, Kenneth Dykes and Vernon Dykes.
Mary Ellen was a devoted wife of 54 years, loving mother, devoted grandmother and great-grandmother. She touched so many lives in her community with her kindness and laughter, opening her home to many.
Survivors include her husband, Paul J. Broyles, Limestone; two daughters, Debbie Jarrett and husband Allen and Cindy Osborne, all of Limestone; grandchildren, Dillon Jarrett and wife Brittney and Devin Osborne and wife Rachel, all of Limestone; great-grandchildren, Silas Osborne and Emma Osborne; two sisters, Kathy Pealer and Margaret Ann Miller.
Funeral services will be conducted 7:00 pm Monday, August 3, 2015 at the Dillow-Taylor Funeral Home with Pastor Charlie Morgan officiating. The family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00 pm Monday prior to the service.
Interment services will be conducted 1:00 pm Tuesday, August 4, 2015 at the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Randy Broyles, Tony Broyles, Allen Jarrett, Jimmy Dykes, Rick Broyles and Caleb Dykes.

I have not thought about Mary Ellen in many years but remember her well from Lamar High School. She was always quick with a smile and big laugh - a really happy girl. I'm sorry for your loss but happy to read that she had a wonderful life with kids, grand kids, and even great grand kids.
