Mr. Douglas “Gene” Francis, age 72, Jonesborough, passed away Sunday, July 5, 2015 at the Four Oaks Healthcare Center.
Mr. Francis was born in Unicoi County and son of the late William Edward & Myrtle Phillips Francis. He was also preceded in death by David Frank McKee, who raised him from a small child, step-father, Paul Blankenship, and several half-brothers and sisters
He attended Pleasant Grove Missionary Baptist Church.
Mr. Francis was retired and had worked for Leon-Ferenbach for many years. He was also a caregiver.
Survivors include his sister and brother-in-law, Shirley & Verlin Bennett, Mr. Juliet, TN; aunt, Martha Turner; nieces and nephew, Patsy Mckee, William McKee and Marie Weiss; and several cousins.
The family would like to send special thanks to William & Patsy McKee and Four Oaks Healthcare for their loving care.
Funeral services will be conducted 8:00 PM Thursday, July 9, 2015 at the Dillow-Taylor Funeral Home with Pastor Ernie Weiss officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 PM Thursday prior to the service.
Interment services will be conducted 11:00 AM Friday, July 10, 2015 at the Pleasant Grove Baptist Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Joe Mosier, Harold Baskett, Jack Mosier, John Hunt, William McKee and Verlin Bennett.
