Mr. Thomas E. Blair, 77, Jonesborough, passed away Friday, June 26, 2015 at Johnson City Medical Center after a lengthy illness.
He was born May 5, 1938 in Lee County Virginia to the late Annie Payne Blair. The Blair/Payne family moved to Carter County Tennessee in 1944, where he spent most of his life before settling in Jonesborough, Tenn. In 1970.
Mr. Blair was an avid gardener, but what he enjoyed most was hunting, and long days fishing at Watauga Lake in Carter County, Tenn.
In addition to his mother he is preceded in death by three brothers, Raymond, Junior, and Richard Blair, and a sister, Katherine Waycaster.
He is survived by two sons, Todd Blair (Missy) of Piney Flats, and Tim Blair (Wendi) of Erwin, one sister, Carrie Morris of Lexington N.C., two Grandchildren , Rebekah Jackson (Josh) of Jonesborough and Brandon Blair of Piney Flats, one niece, Jennifer May and her two children, Dakota and Makenzie of North Carolina.
A private graveside family memorial will be scheduled at later date.
A special thank you to hospice of Johnson City for their loving care of Mr. Blair.

Todd and Tim Mom, Wally, Lisa and I just wanted to tell you how sorry we are for the passing of your dad! I remember all the good times we had growing up together. All the fishing trips we made and the nights spent playing rook. I can only imagine what pain you all are going through, but rest assured that we all will be praying for you during this difficult time.
