Mrs. Dorothy Louise Randolph Slagle, age 87, Jonesborough, passed away Sunday, May 17, 2015 peacefully in her sleep at the Johnson City Medical Center.
Dorothy was born in South Carolina, but lived most of her life in Tennessee. She was the daughter of the late Jeter & Cora Randolph. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Wallace, Winford, Reece, Hoover and Douglas Randolph, a sister, Marjorie Greene, a very special granddaughter, Shannon Dean and grandson-in-law, Rick Trivette.
She loved making handmade quilts and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She is survived by a very special friend, Harden Slagle; son, Lemuel Slagle and his wife Cindy, Jonesborough; two daughters, Louise Hansen and her husband Dennis, Jonesborough and Gail Dean and her husband Eddie, Newland, NC; grandchildren, Savannah Slagle, Jonesborough, Elizabeth Trivette, Hampton, Edward Dean and wife Tricia, Newland, NC, James Dean and wife Keisha, Newland, NC; four great-grandchildren, Broc & Ashton Trivette, Hampton, Kaleigh, Reagan and Sawyer, Newland, NC; one brother, Ray Randolph and wife Ann, Jefferson City; two sisters, Reola Aldridge, Knoxville, Shirley Trice and her husband Bryant, Elizabethton; several nephews and nieces; special friends, Ruth Broyles, Dorothy Rogers, Adlene Range and Lee & Judy Jones.
The family would like to send special thanks to Shirley & Terrie with Visiting Angels, Dr. Cook and Megan, and the 6th floor nurses at the Johnson City Medical Center.
Funeral services will be conducted 8:00 pm Thursday, May 21, 2015 at the Dillow-Taylor Funeral Home with Pastor Ancel Presnell officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 pm Thursday prior to the service.
Interment services will be conducted 2:00 pm Friday, May 22, 2015 at Washington County Memory Gardens.
Pallbearers will be family and friends.
