I am so proud and lucky to call you my Grandfather. You taught me that, with hard work, faith, and a sense of humor, that I could accomplish anything in the universe. Thank you for always treating me with respect and kindness. You taught me so much. I am eternally grateful for all the beautiful memories we have. They just don't make men like you anymore. You mean so much to so many. I thank God for blessing me with such a wonderful influence and the best Grandpa a girl could ask for. We miss you so much already. I Love You Pepaw.See you soon :)

Gene, you are my first Nephew. You have always been special to me. How I laughed when you would tell me how you thought I was the most beautiful girl you ever seen when I was a teenager and you were about ten years old. I always told you that you were my biggest fan. I am going to miss you and your phone calls. I still have your last call saved on my phone. Enjoy Heaven and look for me for I will be there too. You fought a good fight and you kept the faith. Miss you already.

Some of my favorite childhood memories, include you Uncle Gene. From the times we camped in the backyard in the teepee, to our family trips to friendship Indiana for muzzleloading days, to the day you all moved to Tennessee. I remember the moving semis loaded up and saying goodbye. I remember the visits we took, the summer I spent when I was 15, camping in the Roan Mountains... So many happy moments that you were a part of. As I got older, we saw less of each other but I was always so glad to see you and always cried when we said goodbye, even knowing I would see you again. I weep once more for your absense, thankful for your presence in my life and know that I will see you again. And as you've said of those that went before us, when we meet there, it will be only tears of joy as there will be no goodbye. I love you - you are always in my heart!
