Mr. John A. “Johnny” Laws, Sr., age 67, Limestone, passed away Wednesday, April 15, 2015 from injuries sustained in an automobile accident.
Mr. Laws was born in Washington County and son of the late Crawford & Frances “Belle” Nelson Laws. He was also preceded in death by a son, John A. Laws, Jr.
He attended New Salem Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Jewell Tesneary Laws, Limestone; children, Candace Stanton (Keith), Chuckey, Jason Laws and Christy Dotson (Johnny), all of Limestone; ten grandchildren, Whitney Laws, Mandy Stanton, Kody Stanton, Brooke Laws, Bailey Laws, Izak Dotson, Jakob Dotson, Landon Laws, Xander Laws and Skye Laws; three great-grandchildren, Ayden, Bella and Grant; brother, Gerald Laws, (Donna); sister, Judy Arthur (Frank); and several nephews and nieces.
Funeral services will be conducted 6:00 PM Sunday, April 19, 2015 at the Dillow-Taylor Funeral Home with Rev. Craig Ponder, Mr. Bobby Joe Barker and Rev. David Reece officiating. The family will receive friends from 4:00-6:00 PM Sunday prior to the service.
Interment services will be conducted 11:00 AM Monday, April 20, 2015 at Morning Star Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Vestal Freeman, Dale Malone, Greg Stanton, Sam Nelson, Richard Shelton, Dale Malone and Steve Dersham. Honorary pallbearers will be Wesley Laws, Bryan Dimsdale, Scot Dimsdale, Keith Stanton, Johnny Dotson and Jesse Tesneary.

We are at a loss of words to say how sorry we are for your family's loss of Johnny. He was Doc's Van Driver and it was always a pleasure seeing him pull into our Driveway to pick Doc up. We will miss his gentle ways and the smiles he shared with us to make our day brighter. Sleep now til mornings bright sun shine, go softly in sailing, in dreams stealing time. When trouble seen heavy and won't leave your mind just remember,the promise to love you with the love God gave this time, for God gain a Mighty Warrior.
