Willie (Lee) Jones, age 85, of Rose Hill, Va. was born on January 22, 1930 in Jonesville, Va. went to be with the Lord March 4, 2015 in Middlesborough, Ky. Lee attended Rose Hill Pentecostal Church as long as his health permitted. He retired from Brooks Construction and was a member of the United Mine Workers of America. He enjoyed gardening and farming. He was a very loving and caring man. Lee always had a kind word to say. He never was too tired or sick to play (hot socks) or get in the floor and play with his grandchildren, great grandchildren and great- great grandchildren. Lee was preceded in death by his parents, Joe and Lassie Ferguson Jones and by a sister, Judy.

Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Shelva Jean Daniels Jones of Rose Hill, Va. Five daughters and sons-in-law; Christine and Clyde Scott of Ewing, Va, Teresa Michael of Rose Hill, Va, Tammy Jones of Snellville, Ga, Patty and Jack Martin of Rose Hill, Va, Brenda and Tom Howard of Jonesborough, Tn. Grandchildren: Marie Rouse (Chad), Eric Scott (Carmen), Travis Scott (Carolyn), Brian Scott (Brandy), Dana Weaver, Preston Turner, Harold Michael (Laura), Jeff Michael, Aundrea Smith (Christian), Justin Martin (Bre), Jonathan Howard (Morgan) Joshua Howard (Ashley),and Jared Howard (Chelsey); 16 great grandchildren and 2 great- great grandchildren; two sisters,Ruth Cope and Pauline Winchester; two brothers, Dewey Jones and Howard Jones. Many nephews, nieces, cousins and a host of friends.

Family will receive friends on Sunday, March 8, 2015 from 12 noon until 3:00 p.m. at Sturgill Funeral Home in Pennington Gap, Va. Funeral services will follow in the funeral home chapel with Mr. Tom Howard officiating. Interment will follow in the Bradford-Daniels Cemetery in Rose Hill, Va. His grandsons will serve as pallbearers. Sturgill Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
