Mr. Robert “Jack” Roberts, age 70, Limestone, went to his Heavenly home Thursday, January 29, 2015, after a brief illness at the Fort Sanders Regional Medical Center. Jack served his country in the Navy and then the Army Reserves. He worked throughout his life at Triangle Supply Company, Perma R Products, and then retired from K&K Construction Company. Daddy was of Baptist faith, but attended Limestone Church of the Brethren. Jack had a gentle, loving heart. His greatest legacy that he leaves behind is his love for his family, and friends. The wisdom he imparted and shared will live on through us, and we too, shall pass it on.
Jack is preceded in death by both parents: (Roy Roberts Senior and Jane Roberts), his sisters Margaret Collins and Montie Mashburn. Surviving him is his wife Darlene Dougherty Roberts of 48 years; his children: Patty Broyles (Billy), Tammy Roberts (Howard), Robert Roberts (Lori), and Judy Roberts; Sisters: Becky Compton (Bill), Janie Perky and Sondra Miller (Carl); Brothers: Roy Roberts JR, Arthur Roberts and Clifton Roberts (Cindy); 10 grandchildren: Matthew Broyles, Chelsea Broyles, Jordy Broyles (Katie), Lindsay Weston (Zach), Elizabeth Shepard, Brandon Roberts (Kayla), Devin Roberts, Andy Crain, Robert Crain, Jacob Crain and Christina King (Bryan); 1 Great Grandson: Dylan Shepard, Special Nephew Roy Roberts III (Shannon); and several nephews and nieces.
Funeral services will be conducted 6:00 PM Sunday, February 1, 2015 at the Dillow-Taylor Funeral Home with Pastor Jim Griffith and Pastor Don Hilton officiating. The family will receive friends from 4:00-6:00 PM Sunday prior to the service.
