Mrs. Ruth Mae Loyd, age 79, Auburndale, Florida, rose to Heaven Thursday, January 15, 2015 at the Heart of Florida Regional Medical Center.
Mrs. Loyd was born in Jonesborough Tennessee and daughter of the late Ernest and Velva Macintosh Edwards. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Howard Sherrill "Joe" Loyd and her brother Marshall Edwards.
She was a former Kingsport Press employee, homemaker, and restaurant manager.
Survivors include her son, Benjamin Joe Loyd, Auburndale Florida; sisters, Frances Edwards Black, Jonesborough Tennessee; and Laura Kate Edwards Cook, Ames Iowa; brothers Ray Edwards and Bill Edwards, Wilmington North Carolina and a host of cousins, nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted 7:30 PM Friday, January 23, 2015 at the Dillow-Taylor Funeral Home with Rev Jeremy Dykes and Rev Garland James officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 7:30 PM Friday prior to the service.
Interment service include 11:00 AM Saturday, January 24, 2015 at the New Victory Methodist Cemetery.
