Barbara Bruce "Babs" Moore of Jonesborough, age 82, went to be with the Lord on January 17, 2015 at Johnson City Medical Center surrounded by family.
Babs was born in Brooklyn, New York on July 17, 1932. She later moved with her family to Monmouth County, New Jersey. She was proud of her Scottish heritage and competed as a Highland dancer in Scottish games in New Jersey and New York, winning many gold metals.

A gifted soprano, she sang in the church choir at First Baptist, Red Bank, New Jersey. Moreover, she played the piano beautifully. Babs was also an expert at crocheting and created many beautiful pieces for her family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, John A.M. Bruce and Barbara Tilley Kennedy Bruce; sister, Magdalene Savage; brothers William D. Bruce and John Kennedy Bruce, and her son, Bruce Edward Moore.

Babs is survived by her loving husband of 58 years, Joseph L. Moore of Jonesborough, and devoted children: Leslie Anne Makely (Gregory) of Long Branch, New Jersey; Laura Lee Regan (Jeff) of Gibsonville, North Carolina; Barbara Joe Henriksen (Tom) of Greeneville, Tennessee; Pamela Jeanne Cunningham (Michael)of Hartselle, Alabama; and Gregory Keith Moore (Teresa) of Chattanooga, Tennessee. She is also survived by 14 grandchildren: Kyle, Abbie, J.J., Jeremy, Amanda, Graham, Jacob, Cameron, Hunter, Lundsey, Gunnar, Ty, Spencer, and Kennedy and 5 great-grandchildren: Henry, Owen, Renton, Dyland and Arlo.
Babs was a member of the Jonesborough United Methodist Church.

A celebration of her life will be held on Sunday, February 8, 2015 at the church from 2-4 pm.

The family would like to thank the doctors, nurses and staff of the Four Oaks Health Care Center and the Johnson City Medical Center for thier love and support.

From the time I met Babs I knew we would be lifetime friends. She had a heart of gold and would do anything to help a friend. She will always have a place in my heart and will live on in my memories of her.

Ms Moore was an amazing individual with a ready smile for everyone no matter how bad she was feeling. I know that she is now lighting up Heaven with her smile. I love you dearly.
