Mrs. Betty G. Payne, age 75, Jonesborough, passed away Wednesday, December 3, 2014 at her residence.
Mrs. Payne was born in Johnson County, TN and daughter of the late Steve & Imogene Heaton Presnell. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Floyd Presnell, sister, Blanche Covington and two nephews, Billy Covington, Jr. and Steve Presnell.
She was a member of New Victory Baptist Church.
Mrs. Payne was owner and operator of Payne Greenhouse and a homemaker.
Survivors include her husband, Herman Clarence Payne, Jonesborough; son and daughter-in-law, Mike H. & Sherry Payne, Jonesborough; grandson and wife, Jeffrey & Ashley Payne, Jonesborough; niece, Rebecca Pond, Jonesborough; nephews, Jerry Presnell and Rodney Covington; brother, Bynum Presnell, Bristol; and a brother-in-law, Bill Covington, Sr.
The family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00 PM Friday, December 5, 2014 at the Dillow-Taylor Funeral Home.
Graveside services will be conducted 11:00 AM Saturday, December 6, 2014 at the New Victory Methodist Cemetery with Dr. Lester Morelock officiating. The family request friends meet at New Victory Baptist Church at 10:30 AM Saturday prior to the service.
Pallbearers will be special friends.
