Mr. Robert C. Bacon, age 82, Jonesborough, passed away Wednesday, November 26, 2014 at the Johnson City Medical Center.
Mr. Bacon was born in Washington County the son of the late William W. Bacon and Lela Deadrick Bacon. He was also preceded in death by his wife Hazel Bacon, and four brothers, Virgil, John, Parris and Ray Bacon.
He was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church since the Church was organized many years ago.
Mr. Bacon was retired having worked at North American Rayon and other plants for years, and he was also a part time farmer.
Survivors include his son Randy Bacon and wife Patricia, Jonesborough, two Grandsons, Bradley Bacon, Johnson City, and Brandon Bacon, Jonesborough, one sister Mary Ruth Jeffers, Limestone, one brother Arthur Bacon, Johnson City, and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted 7 pm Saturday, November 29, 2014 at the Dillow-Taylor Funeral Home with Pastor Brian Nuff and Rev. Bud Pate officiating. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 pm prior to the service. Interment services will be 2 pm Sunday at Mt. Zion Baptist Church Cemetery. The family does request that everyone meet at the cemetery for the graveside service.
Pallbearers will be Wayne Taylor, Rex Taylor, J R Bacon, Mike Conley, Gary Jeffers, and Jessie Ford.
The family wanted to say a special thank you to nurse Eric Anderson and nurse Kelly Fugate from Johnson City Medical Center for their help and concern for Mr. Bacon.
