Mr. George A. Morelock, age 72, Jonesborough, entered his heavenly home on Monday, November 24, 2014 at the James H. Quillen VA Medical Center.
Mr. Morelock was born in Greeneville, TN and son of the late Bennie Earl & Flavia Tweed Morelock. He was also preceded in death by two sisters, Shirley Clay and Peggy Russell and two brothers, Jimmy Morelock and Bennie Morelock, Jr.
He attended New Victory United Methodist Church.
Mr. Morelock was a charter member of the Telford Ruritan and member of Rhea Masonic Lodge F&AM #47. He served his country in the U.S. Army during Vietnam. He retired from Burlington Industries after 38 years.
Survivors include his wife, Ann Jones Morelock, Jonesborough; sons, Greg Morelock (Debbie), Russellville, TN and Chris “Squeak” Morelock, Telford; four grandchildren, Hallie and Sara Morelock, Russellville, Jessika Trembley (Brandon), Mohawk and Dillon Morelock, Bulls Gap, TN; and one great-granddaughter, Paisley Ann Trembley, Mohawk; two sisters, Nancy Street, Telford and Billie Joe Hicks, Greeneville; and one brother, J.W. Morelock, Telford.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. O’Neil, Dr. Loyd, Dr. Parks and the nurses and staff on the ground, first and second floor of the V.A. Hospital.
Celebration of Life services will be conducted 7:00 PM Friday, November 28, 2014 at the Dillow-Taylor Funeral Home with Pastor Cathy Fowler and Rev. Jeremy Dykes officiating. The family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00 PM Friday prior to the service.
Interment services will be conducted 11:00 AM Saturday, November 29, 2014 at New Victory Methodist Cemetery with military honors.
Pallbearers will be Greg Morelock, Chris Morelock, Dillon Morelock, Pat Lee Loyd, Mike Collins, Frank Arthur, Charles Causey and State Representative Matthew Hill. Honorary pallbearers will be Arthur Bacon, Beryl Calvin, Robert Oliver, Bobby Collins, Brandon Trembley and Jamey Anderson.
