Mrs. Carolyn Beckett White, age 70, Jonesborough, went to be with Jesus and her loved ones Friday, October 24, 2014 at the Johnson City Medical Center.
Mrs. White was born in Washington County and daughter of the late William “Bill” & Sudie Robbins Beckett. She was also preceded in death by two brothers, Douglas Beckett and Buddy Beckett, two sisters, Frances B. Reagan and Lois B. Lockner and four additional infant brothers.
She was a member of Union Christian Church. She enjoyed gardening, sewing, quilting, and singing in the church choir. Everyone was always welcome at “Grandma’s Place” weekends, weekdays or whenever.
Mrs. White retired from the Washington County School System, where she worked with food services at Jonesborough Elementary School.
Survivors include her husband, Gordon N. White, of the home; daughters, Angela White, of the home and Janet White, Johnson City; son and daughter-in-law, Daryl & Teresa White, Parrottsville, TN; grandchildren, Paul Holly (Ashley), Caroline and Kaitlyn McKee and Blaine White; great-grandchild, Nila Holly; brother and sister-in-law, Charles & Anna Beckett, Gray; several nephews and nieces; and special pet, “Rosey”.
Funeral services will be conducted 7:00 PM Monday, October 27, 2014 at the Union Christian Church with Ministers Charles Fitzsimmons and Karl Grasser officiating. The family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00 PM Monday prior to the service.
Interment services will be conducted 11:00 AM Tuesday, October 28, 2014 at Cherry Grove Cemetery.
