Mrs. Linda Kay Rice, age 72, Jonesborough passed away Monday, September 22, 2014 at the Mountain View Retirement Home in Lebanon, Virginia.
Mrs. Rice was born in Johnson City and daughter of the late Luther Gilley & Minnie Whitson. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Albert Rice and a brother, Larry Gilley.
She was a member of Telford Baptist Church.
Mrs. Rice worked at Kings Department Store, Golden Key Realty and Paint n’ More.
Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Kenneth & Jeannie Rice, Jonesborough; daughter and son-in-law, Nancy & Dewey Hope, Abingdon; grandchildren, Kenslie Rice, Jonesborough, Jacob Hope, and Anna Hope, both of Abingdon; brothers, Gary Gilley and wife Pat, Johnson City, David Gilley, New Hampshire and Kevin Gilley, Maine.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff and friends at the Mountain View Retirement Home for their wonderful care.
The family will receive friends from 1:30-2:30 PM Thursday, September 25, 2014 at the Dillow-Taylor Funeral Home. Graveside services will follow at Monte Vista Burial Park with Rev. Stan Bradley officiating.
Pallbearers will be Kenneth Rice, Dewey Hope, Jacob Hope, Jake Hubbard, Larry Shanks and Darryl Ball.
