Mrs. Helen Kinley Conley, age 88, Jonesborough, passed away Friday August 22, 2014.
Mrs. Conley was born in Washington County and daughter of the late Robert & Beulah Crawford Kinley. She was also preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Clyde Edmund Conley, son, Edmund B. Conley, sisters, Madelyn France, Edna Dunn, Mattie Chambers, Beulah Kate Hampton and Bertha Whaley and two brothers, Ralph Kinley and Dillard Kinley.
She was a member of McCarty United Methodist Church.
Mrs. Conley was a retired Rural Letter Carrier from the Jonesborough Post Office. During her retirement years she was actively involved in the Jonesborough Senior Center, where she loved playing canasta and rook. She volunteered many hours and served on the Senior Center Board for many years.
She was interested in the welfare of her family and loved getting visits from them. She was always community minded, read the newspaper every morning and loved watching the Braves!!
Survivors include her children, Scott Conley and wife, Joy, and Gail Lewis and husband, Billy; grandchildren, Rebecca Cunningham and husband, Scott, Kim Conley, Shannon Conley, Carrie Pierce and Sarah Babb and husband, David; great-grandchildren, Kathryn Woodfin, Amber Woodfin, Amanda Cunningham, Preston Pierce, Trent Conley, and Oliver Babb; brothers and sisters-in-law, J.D. & Dorothy Conley, Bobby & Betty Conley and Margaret Smith; and several cousins, nieces, and nephews, whom she loved dearly.
Funeral services will be conducted 7:00 PM Monday, August 25, 2014 at the Dillow-Taylor Funeral Home with Rev. Karen Lane and Rev. Garland James officiating. The family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00 PM Monday prior to the service and other times at the home.
Interment services will be conducted 10:30 AM Tuesday, August 26, 2014 at McCarty Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Shannon Conley, Scott Cunningham, David Babb, Craig France, Mike Conley, Danny Kinley, Terry Cochran and Jerome Cochran. Honorary pallbearers will be Jim Cochran, David Kinley and Buddy Chambers.
