Mr. Jerry Lee Canter, age 57, Gray, passed away Tuesday, August 19, 2014 at his residence.
Mr. Canter was born in Johnson City and son of Pearl J. Canter, Johnson City and the late Vada B. Canter. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Cecil David Canter.
Jerry was a nuclear welder at Accurate Machine for 16 years. He also enjoyed painting and restoring cars. He loved his Harley Davidson motorcycles. He held two black belts in martial arts.
He was a loving father, husband, and grandfather.
In addition to his father, survivors include his wife of 35 years, Cindy _ Canter, Gray; daughter and son-in-law, Shauna Noelle & Brandon Kindle, Elizabethton; brother and sister-in-law, Edward & Jeanne Canter, Jonesborough; special aunt, Pat Myers, Gray; nieces, Brooke Corey, Kingsport, Michelle Canter, Rolla, Missouri; and one nephew, Christopher Canter, Gray.
The family would like to thank Mountain States Hospice for their care and understanding. They would also like to thank all the family and friends who have supported them through this difficult time.
Funeral services will be conducted 7:00 PM Friday, August 22, 2014 at the Dillow-Taylor Funeral Home with Rev. Anthony Wilson officiating. The family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00 PM Friday prior to the service.
Interment services will be conducted 11:00 AM Saturday, August 23, 2014 at Monte Vista Burial Park.
Pallbearers will be picked from family and friends.
