Mrs. Virdie “Mae” Painter, age 78, Limestone, passed away Monday, August 11, 2014 at the home of her daughter.
Mrs. Painter was born in Carter County on August 17, 1935 and daughter of the late William Eldridge & Hazel Elizabeth Baird Simpson. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Jearold Eugene Painter and five sisters.
She was of the Christian faith.
Mrs. Painter worked for Texas Instruments. She loved camping and all her camping friends.
Survivors include four children, Glenda Painter, William Painter and wife, Sharon, Susan Hensley and husband, Bryan and Mark Painter and wife, Tracy; grandchildren, Johnny Hensley, David Comer, Joseph Lowery, Jason Painter, Mark Taylor, Justin Painter and Hollie Painter; six great-grandchildren; brothers, Ronald Simpson, Glen Simpson and Larry Simpson; and several nephews and nieces.
Funeral services will be conducted 8:00 PM Thursday, August 14, 2014 at the Dillow-Taylor Funeral Home with Rev. Roy Simpson officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 PM Thursday prior to the service and other times at the home of the daughter, Susan.
Interment services will be conducted 11:00 AM Friday, August 15, 2014 at Washington County Memory Gardens.
Pallbearers will be grandsons and family.
