Mr. Alvin Hicks, age 78, Elizabethton, passed away Sunday, July 27, 2014 at Sycamore Shoals Hospital.
Mr. Hicks was born in Watauga County North Carolina, son of the late Fred and Binner Hicks. He was also preceded in death by a daughter, Darlene and son, Allen Hicks, four brothers and one sister.
Mr. Hicks was a carpenter and truck driver.
Survivors include a son, Edward Hicks, Jonesborough; daughters Lora Hicks, Johnson City and Jennifer Hicks, Johnson City; brothers Joe Hicks, Johnson City and William Hicks, Gray, Ex-wife Kathy Hicks and 10 grandchildren.
Graveside services for Mr. Hicks will be at 2 pm, Wednesday, July 30th at Cherry Grove Baptist Church Cemetery, with Rev. Ron Thompson officiating.
Pallbearers will be family and friends.
