Mr. Jerry Lee Hylton, age 60, Jonesborough, passed away Monday, July 14, 2014 at the James H. Quillen VA Medical Center.
Mr. Hylton was born in Johnson City and was the son of Madge Miller Hylton, Jonesborough and the late Leroy Hylton.
He was a United States Navy Veteran having served on the USS Midway.
Mr. Hylton retired from the transmission business. He enjoyed fishing, his flower gardens and was a sports fan.
In addition to his mother, survivors include a son, Nathan Hylton, Washington State; grandson, Noah Hylton, Washington State; sisters, Jean Dunbar (Larry), Joan Miller (Don), Sarah Raby and Wallace Hylton (Mary); special nieces, Elizabeth Raby and Greta Raby; and several aunts, uncles, nephews and nieces.
Funeral services will be conducted 8:00 PM Wednesday, July 16, 2014 at the Dillow-Taylor Funeral Home with Mr. Buddy Arrowood officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 PM Wednesday prior to the service and other times at the home of his brother, Wallace, 1052 Old State Rt. 34 Jonesborough.
Interment services will be conducted 10:45 AM Thursday, July 17, 2014 at Mountain Home National Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be family & friends.
