Myrtle Mae Woodfin Runyon Wilson, Jonesborough, TN, received her angle wings, on June 16, 2014 at 9:43 AM at Johnson City Medical Center. Myrtle is now flying amongst us as our guardian angel.
She was a life-long Washington County resident. She is the daughter of Betty Harrison Woodfin and the late David Ray Woodfin. In addition to her father, Myrtle was also preceded in death by a brother, Kenny Cole in 2011, maternal grandparents, Bill & Hester Harrison, paternal grandparents, Elmer & Myrtle (her name sake) Woodfin and many uncles, aunts, cousins and friends.
Myrtle was a 1994 graduate of David Crockett High School.
She was a United States Marine Corp. Veteran. After the Marines, she was a stay at home mom.
Left behind to cherish Myrtle’s memory, in addition to her mother, loving husband, Mathias Wilson; sons, whom she adored, Dillon Runyon and Haiden Wilson; stepson, whom she adored and raised, Chris Runyon; sisters and brothers-in-law, Christy & Vince Hill, Cathy & Marvin Stockton, Carol & Josh Murphy; father-in-law, Robert Wilson; special nieces and nephews, Heather Barlow, Chris Burnette, April Woodfin (Justin), Christina (Tyler) Huester, Carrie Ann Stockton, Keisha Keith and Tyler Murphy; great-nieces, Davida, Anastasia and a great niece due in October; special aunt and uncle, Billy Joe & Mary Woodfin; special cousin, Billy Woodfin, Jr.; good friend, Chris Runion; and many aunts, uncles, in-laws, family and friends.
Memorial services will be conducted 6:00 PM Wednesday, June 18, 2014 at Dillow-Taylor Funeral Home with Pastor Lester Riddle officiating. Visitation will be at the home of her mother and sister, 202 Malone Hollow Rd. Jonesborough.
