Mr. James Lewis, age 64, Johnson City, passed away Tuesday, May 13, 2014 at the Johnson City Medical Center.
Mr. Lewis was born in Johnson City and son of the late James Aubrey & Burley Hensley Lewis.
He was a United States Army Veteran having received a Purple Heart.
Mr. Lewis was a retired Truck Driver. He loved playing with his grandchildren.
Survivors include three sons and daughters-in-law, Kevin & Buffy Lewis, Johnson City, Michael & Dereth Lewis, Knoxville and Buddy & Ashley Lewis, Johnson City; one daughter, Jenny Lewis; eight grandchildren, Emmy Lewis, Myla Lewis, Drake Lewis, Chapman Lewis, Olivia Lewis, Adrianna Lewis, Liam Lewis and LeAnna Lewis; four sisters, Fran Meghoo, Kinsport, Ann Cunningham, Arizona, Debbie (Debo) McMillan, Marion, VA and Jean Gordon, Kingsport; two brothers, Bob Lewis, Dover, North Carolina and Bud Lewis, Kingsport; and several nephews and nieces.
Funeral services will be conducted 8:00 PM Thursday, May 15, 2014 at Dillow-Taylor Funeral Home with Rev. Kevin Lewis officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 PM Thursday prior to the service.
Interment services will be conducted 1:00 PM Friday, May 16, 2014 at the Mountain Home National Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be family.
