Mrs. Gladys Vaughn, a woman who, “loved Jesus with all of her heart, all of her soul, all of her mind and all of her strength” Mark 12:30, age 87, Johnson City passed away Tuesday, May 6, 2014 at Memorial Healthcare System in Chattanooga.
Mrs. Vaughn was born in Anson County, NC and was daughter of the late Roy & Allie Mae (Pegram) Honeycutt. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Wilson Spencer Vaughn, two sons, Charles Fredrick Vaughn and Johnny Spencer Vaughn, daughter-in-law, Connie Ramsey Vaughn, two sisters and two brothers.
She was a member of Cornerstone Church.
Mrs. Vaughn was a retired Hairdresser.
Her family was one of her greatest loves, survivors include her children, Mike Vaughn, Telford, Sharon Stapleton and husband Rik, Asheville, NC and Victor Vaughn and wife Sarah, Covington, KY; grandchildren, Charity Stapleton Alder (Kenneth), Monica Revels, Christopher Stapleton (Sonia), Eric Vaughn, Jason Vaughn (Brittany), Jordan Vaughn (Casey), Allison Stapleton and Michael Vaughn; five great-grandchildren, Berkeley, Landon, Brooklyn, Caryston and Henrik; brothers and sisters, Sam, Bea, Helen, George, Leonard and Ben.
Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 PM Thursday, May 8, 2014 at Cornerstone Church with Dr. Barry Burns and Pastor Christopher Stapleton officiating. The family will receive friends at the church from 12:00-2:00 PM Thursday prior to the service.
Private interment services will be conducted at East Lawn Memorial Park.
Pallbearers will be Jason Vaughn, Jordan Vaughn, Michael Vaughn, Christopher Stapleton, Michael Huneycutt and Kenneth Alder. Honorary pallbearers will be Johnny Painter and Jack Leonard.
