Mrs. Elizabeth Louise Thomas, age 82 years, of Jefferson City, Mo. passed away Monday, March 24, 2014 at St. Joseph Bluffs surrounded by her family.

Elizabeth was born on April 12, 1931 in Johnson City, Tennessee a daughter of Fields M. and Bertha Babb Williams. She was married on May 9, 1953 in Johnson City, Tennessee to John D. Thomas, who preceded her in death on September 3, 1999.

She was a 1950 graduate of Boone Creek High School in Boone Creek, Tennessee.

Elizabeth was a dental hygienist in Johnson City, Tennessee and met her husband, John, during a dental appointment while he was on active duty in the Marine Corps. They later moved to Jefferson City in 1971 due to John’s Marine Corps career and she then began working at the Department of Revenue until her retirement in June 30, 1994.

She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Jefferson City, Mo.

Survivors include: two sons, John S. Thomas and his wife Marla of Jefferson City, Mo. and Delbert D. Thomas and his wife Sheri of Lawrence, Kansas; three grandchildren, Jason Thomas and his wife Debbie of Jefferson City, Mo., Sarah Thompson and her husband Blair of Jefferson City, Mo. and Paige Thomas of Manhattan, Kansas; five great-grandchildren, Tyler Thomas, Madison Thomas, Colby Thomas, Colton Thompson and Stevi Thompson.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of forty-six years, John; four sisters; and three brothers

Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 AM Saturday, March 29, 2014 at Dillow-Taylor Funeral Home with Rev. Buster Hodge officiating. The family will receive friends from 10:00-11:00 AM Saturday prior to the service. Interment services will follow at Fairview Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be family & friends.
