Mr. Clyde Robinson, age 67, Limestone, went to be with the Lord Jesus Christ Saturday, March 15, 2014 at his residence after a lengthy battle with cancer.
Mr. Robinson was born in Unicoi County and son of the late David Cornelius & Beulah Mae Silvers Robinson. He was also preceded in death by a sister, Mae Casey and two brothers, James William Robinson and Dorsey Briggs.
He was a well-known musician and had several music establishments in the area. Mr. Robinson was the manager of several music bands including the Railway Express. He was also a member of a lot of gospel groups, including Little Teresa & the Wings of Faith, featuring himself and his children, Teresa & Matthew Robinson. Mr. Robinson’s passion was music and singing for the Lord. He taught himself to play at the early age of 8 years old. He loved his music and his family. He was loved by all. His music, memory and legacy will live on through his kids, whom he loved, cherished and taught all of his life.
Survivors include his wife of 34 years, Sharon Huskins Robinson, Limestone; one daughter, Teresa Robinson, Limestone one son, Matthew Robinson and wife, Regina, Limestone; sister, Lilly Ann Casey and husband, Shell; three brothers, Kenneth Silvers, Limestone, Maynard Silvers and wife, Diane, Jonesborough and Frankie (Toots) Briggs and wife, Betty, Chuckey; several nephews and nieces; and sister-in-law, Katherine Robinson.
The family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00 PM Wednesday, March 19, 2014 at the Dillow-Taylor Funeral Home.
Graveside services will be conducted 11:00 AM Thursday, March 20, 2014 at Bumpass Cove Cemetery with Rev. Brian Brown officiating.
Pallbearers will be Ricky Whaley, Matthew Robinson, Kenneth Lee Silvers, David Robinson, Maynard Silvers and Phillip Robinson. Honorary pallbearers will be Kenneth Silvers, Sr., Frankie (Toots) Briggs, four very special friends, Richard Freeman, Gary Tipton, Norman Jenkins and Daymon Poore.
