Mrs. Nellie Ruth (Bruner) Dykes, age 68, Jonesborough, passed away Sunday, February 16, 2014 at her residence.
Mrs. Dykes was a native of Washington County and daughter of the late Benzo Benton & Grace Gregg Bruner. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Martin Darrell Dykes, brother, Franklin Bruner and two sisters, Jerushia Bowser and Bonnie Reed.
She was a member of McKinley Bible Church.
Mrs. Dykes was a Homemaker.
Survivors include two sons, Tony Dykes, Elizabethton and Tommy Dykes, of the home; three daughters, Ivy Dykes and Lisa Dykes, of the home and Tammy Percell and husband, Gordon, Johnson City; one brother, Vestal Bruner, Jonesborough; five grandchildren, Tad “Tony” Dykes, Martin Dykes, Benzo Dykes, Bucky Percell and Amanda Percell; ten great-grandchildren and several nephews and nieces.
The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 PM Tuesday, February 18, 2014 at Dillow-Taylor Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 AM Wednesday, February 19, 2014 at the Dillow-Taylor Funeral Home with Rev. Lenny Smith officiating. Interment services will follow at Oak Hill Baptist Cemetery, Jonesborough.
Pallbearers will be Steve Frye, Butch Keffer, Willie Percell, Darren Percell, Gary Percell and Bucky Percell.
