Mr. Bobby Vernon Echols, age 71, Jonesborough, passed away Friday, February 14, 2014 at the Johnson City Medical Center.
Mr. Echols was a native of Carter County and son of the late Clarence & Tina Halls Echols.
He was a Truck Driver, retiring in 1999 after 30 years of service.
Survivors include his wife of 37 years, Jean Percell Echols, Jonesborough; two daughters, Janet Sue Ottinger, Johnson City and Bobbie Mary Grapes and husband Paul, Elkin, Maryland; one son, Bobby Jeffery Echols; two step-daughters, Judy Ann Willis (Donald), Jonesborough and Lisa Kay Buckingham (Cliff McCrary), Greeneville; step-son, Jeffery Allen Buckingham; four grandchildren, one great-grandchild, seven step-grandchildren and two step great-grandchildren; two sisters, Norma Rich (Burt), Fayetteville, TN and Shelby Siller, Kentucky; one brother, James “Jim” Echols (Judy) Texas; and several nephews and nieces.
The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 PM Tuesday, February 18, 2014 at the Dillow-Taylor Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be conducted 1:00 PM Wednesday, February 19, 2014 at the Dillow-Taylor Funeral Home Chapel with Mr. Paul Grapes officiating. Interment services will follow at Fairview Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Donald Willis, Dalton Willis, Claude Percell, Dale Deakins, Kermit Deakins and Dan Deakins.
