Mrs. Joanne Taylor Shelton, age 79, Gray, passed away Monday, January 20, 2014 at the Bristol Regional Medical Center.
Mrs. Shelton was a native of Washington County and daughter of the late Joseph Harry & Julia Ruth Shanks Taylor. Mrs. Shelton was also preceded in death by her husband, Walter Shelton.
She was a member of New Hope Church of the Brethren.
Mrs. Shelton worked for many years as a “Nanny”.
Survivors include her daughter, Tammy Jo Shelton, Gray; grandson, Tanner Christian Altman, Gray; one brother, Thomas Taylor, Destin, FL; and two sisters, Barbara Stout (Bill), Bluff City and Cherry Sell (Heyward), Johnson City; and several nephews and nieces.
Funeral services will be conducted 8:00 PM Thursday, January 23, 2014 at Dillow-Taylor Funeral Home with Rev. Danny Depew. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 PM Thursday prior to the service.
Interment services will be conducted 11:00 AM Friday, January 24, 2014 at Fairview Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Duane Cole, Tanner Altman,Brandon Akers, Josh Little, Coby Duncan and Hunter Skalechki.
